Molasses and white sugar. Boom, you have brown sugar. That’s it. Thanks for popping by!
Alright, it does take some elbow and shoulder action to combine the thick, viscous molasses with the white sugar. It was not until the end that I realized I could have used a hand mixer this whole time instead of a fork. With this recipe, I ended up with a lump of light brown sugar. If you would like some dark brown sugar, just gradually add a teaspoon of molasses at a time until you get the desired colour. Since it’s the holiday season, I have been making gingerbread cookies and cake. So this is a great way to use up any leftover molasses.

DIY Brown Sugar
Ingredients:
That brown magic
2 cups white granulated sugar
1 1/2 tbsp molasses
Instructions:
1. In a bowl, mix the white sugar and molasses until well combined. You can either use a fork or a hand mixer.
2. Store the brown sugar in an airtight container or a Ziploc plastic bag.
